Q A thirty-four-year-old client enters therapy at the request of her husband. Over time, she reveals that her primary reason for coming to therapy is to appease her husband, who discovered that she had been cutting herself on her forearms and thighs. The counselor, who knows that you recently obtained additional education in trauma counseling, calls you for a consultation. Based upon the literature, what phase of treatment would you assess the client/counselor to be in? What questions would you ask of the counselor/want her to explore further? What suggestions might you offer based upon the limited information she provides? Post a clear and succinct 300-500 word response that demonstrates integration of, and critical thinking regarding, the information presented.

This is because there had not been any interest shown by the client to get treated before her husband had insisted her. However, for convincing the client there will have to be a strong rapport built between the client and the counselor.
